Astro Tours Posted July 6, 2021 Share Posted July 6, 2021 Three New Zealand photographers are in the running to win one of the world’s most prestigious competitions, the Astronomy Photographer of the Year. Organised by the Royal Observatory Greenwich in the UK, more than 4500 images from 75 countries have been submitted. One of those shortlisted comes from Auckland-based Larryn Rae. His image, entitled Iceland Vortex, is a 250-degree panorama shot of the Aurora Borealis in Iceland. Evan McKay’s Three Sisters captured at Tongapōrutu in Taranaki is another shortlisted for Astronomy Photographer of the Year.
